FAQ
What's the difference between light, medium, and dark roast?
Light roast coffee beans don't stay in the roasting machine as long as dark roast coffee beans and have a tan color. The beans also tend to lack any oil on them and are denser. Light roast will have more caffeine and can contain more fruity and floral flavors, giving the beans more of an individual flavor.
Light roast is also known as:
Light City
Half City
Cinnamon
Medium roast coffee beans have more body and no oil on the surface compared to light roast. Medium roast has a more balanced flavor and aroma, making it a popular roast in the Americas.
Medium Roast is also known as:
American Roast
Breakfast Roast
City Roast
Dark roast coffee beans stay in the roasting machine for a longer period of time with a higher temperature which gives it a darker brown color. Dark roast beans are oilier and have less moisture within. These beans have a bold, nutty, chocolate, earthy taste and are popular for espresso drinks.
Dark Roast is also known as:
Espresso
French
Italian
